Erectile dysfunction medicines seized in Glengormley

Large of unlicensed medications have been seized by Department of Health officials throughout a search of a home in Glengormley.

A man was talked to by department officers about unlawfully importing and subsequently providing unlicensed impotence medications by means of the internet.

The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other medicine offenses.

He will now be the subject of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was brought out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, stated: "It is vital that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medications can be dangerous.

"These types of products being offered, typically online, have undergone no quality assurance and there can be no warranty about their safety.

"You merely do not know what you are taking or the conditions these products were made in. More importantly, you do not know the result drugs like this might have on your health."
